Biography

Heather Laing became Calvary Women's Services' first Development Director in 2002. As Chief Development Officer, Heather develops and executes an annual fundraising plan, cultivates and solicits major donors, manages communications and marketing and supervises a staff of three fundraising professionals. She has managed the growth of the fundraising program through three significant program expansion projects and a capital campaign. Under her leadership Calvary has increased annual revenue from major donors, fundraising events and corporations by over 100% each.

Heather has held many roles within nonprofit organizations and brings diverse and long-term institutional knowledge of all aspects of Calvary's activities. She began her career at Calvary as a Volunteer Coordinator and Shelter Supervisor. Heather has also served as the Senior Donor Relations Associate at People for the American Way, where she was the primary point of contact for the organization's 600,000 members, oversaw the acknowledgment process for all active donors and worked with all major donor and foundation contributions.

Heather graduated with High Honors from the Rochester Institute of Technology, attaining a Bachelor of Fine Arts.
